Bored or Boring?

We often confuse adjectives that can end with -ed and -ing.

It's so confusing! So let’s work them out today.

We use -ed when we talk about how we feel about something.

I’m tired of my new job. (That’s how I feel)

If I want to tell you what makes me feel this way, I use -ing

Working late hours is tiring.

Sometimes I can use both endings, but that will change the meaning:

My brother is boring. (I’m describing him, he’s a boring person)

My brother is bored. (I’m describing how he feels right now)

Let’s practice it with a few examples:

What makes you bored and which events in your life were boring?
